Cookie policy

Every cookie and piece of browser storage we use, and why. Essential only.

Effective 25 October 2026Last updated 25 October 2026Version 2.0Applies to: fidelearn.com and its sub-domains

The key points, in plain English

  • We use only essential cookies and browser storage: to keep you signed in, protect forms and remember choices you make.
  • No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no third-party analytics cookies.
  • fidelearn.com's main pages set no cookies. Sign-in cookies are used on FideLearn Tutors, the directory and school portals.
  • Paystack (at checkout) and Google Maps (when shown) may use their own cookies.
  • You can delete or block cookies in your browser, but signing in needs them.

This summary helps you find your way. The full text below is what applies.

1. What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep, so it can remember things such as that you are signed in. "Local storage" and "session storage" are similar features that keep small amounts of information in your browser. This policy covers all of them, on fidelearn.com and its sub-domains (including the schools directory, FideLearn Tutors and school portals), and explains how to control them.

2. Our approach: essential only

FideLearn uses only strictly necessary cookies and storage: things the services cannot work without, such as keeping you signed in, protecting forms from attack, and remembering a choice you just made. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics cookies. Our own visitor statistics for school websites are cookieless and do not store IP addresses.

Under the NDPA and the GAID, strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent, but we still tell you about each one here. If we ever want to use a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first, and you will be able to say no.

4. Browser storage we use

5. Other companies

  • Paystack. When you pay, you are taken to Paystack's secure checkout, which uses its own cookies for security and fraud prevention under Paystack's cookie and privacy policies.
  • Google Maps. Some directory pages can show a Google map, and directions may open in Google Maps. Google may then set or read its own cookies under Google's policies. Other map pages use OpenStreetMap tiles, which set no cookies.
  • Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details to deliver them, but sets no cookies.
  • Links to other websites (for example a school's own site or social media) are governed by those sites' policies.

6. How to control cookies

You can see and delete cookies and site storage in your browser's settings, and block them for all or some sites. In most browsers this is under Settings > Privacy (or Privacy and security) > Cookies and site data. Because we only use essential cookies, blocking them will stop you signing in and may stop forms and payments from working. Clearing local storage will remove saved schools and settings.
