Getting started
How long does it take to set up?
Most centres are running their first exam within a day: add your school details, import students and questions from Excel, and create an exam. We help with the first setup.
Can we move our existing students and questions?
Yes. Import students and question banks from Excel or CSV, including pictures and reading passages.
Do we need to buy a server?
No. Any reasonable Windows computer at your centre can run the exams for your hall. Your online portal is hosted by us.
Exams & internet
Do we need internet to run exams?
No. Exams, proctoring and attendance run on your centre's own computer and Wi-Fi. Internet is only needed to sync results and the parent portal online, and FideLearn does that by itself whenever you're connected.
What computers do candidates need?
Any Windows 10 or 11 computer with FideLearn Browser for locked exams, or a modern browser (Chrome, Edge) for practice and homework, including phones. A webcam is needed only for proctoring.
What if the network fails during an exam?
Answers are saved as students go. If the network is down when they submit, the exam is kept safely on the computer and delivered automatically when the network returns.
Is it really like the JAMB CBT?
Yes: timed sections, a question navigator, a calculator, flagging, and the same "submit and see your score" flow.
Proctoring
Will proctoring slow our computers down?
No. Only candidates you open stream live video, quality is capped, at most 4 live videos run at once by default, and video pauses while a candidate submits.
Is the exam recorded?
No. Live video is shown and not stored. Only a few seconds around each serious alert are saved as evidence, kept for 60 days at your centre.
Data & payment
How do you protect our students' data?
Every connection is encrypted, each school's data is kept separate, marking happens on the server, and access is protected. FideLearn is built to meet Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023, and you can export or delete your data at any time. See Security.
How do we pay?
Per term or per year, in naira, by bank transfer or card. There's no contract. See Pricing.
